Police: Suspect tried to sell car involved in baseball bat attack on developmentally-disabled man

Seattle police said they have arrested a suspect in the attack of a developmentally disabled 61-year-old man at a Rainier Beach bus stop last week.

On Friday, police said the suspect, a 38-year-old man, was trying to sell the same gold Ford Contour used to flee the scene after the attack.

After leads and tips from the community, investigators found the vehicle for sale online.

Detectives met with the suspect Friday morning at 23rd Avenue and Yesler Street, where he was taken into custody.  He'll be booked into the King County Jail later Friday.

Police said the victim was sitting at a bus stop at Rainier Avenue South and South Fisher Place on March 24 when someone struck him with a baseball bat. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center to be treated for a traumatic brain injury.

The suspected attacker fled the area in a gold Ford Contour. police said.

Earlier this week, family members told KIRO 7's Jessica Oh that the victim couldn't stop the attack.

"Why attack someone from behind? Are you that callous?" said the victim's brother-in-law David Armstrong.
