A few bouquets of flowers, the scuff marks on the bark of a tree now mark the spot outside the BECU Everett Financial Center where tragedy happened Sunday morning.
Juan Arechiga was one of several good Samaritans who jumped in to help.
"I never in my life witnessed anything like that," he said.
He cut an 18-year-old woman out of her seat belt. Several others were giving a young child CPR. There were also two men but one of them wasn't moving. Arechiga was still in shock when he talked Sunday morning.
"I have kids, too," said Arechiga. "I have a family. It's sad to see something like that."
Eyewitnesses told investigators the 2000 Acura was moving in excess of a 100 miles an hour. Surveillance video that showed the car speeding by moments before the crash. The vehicle was in so many pieces, Everett police said they will need time to reconstruct the crash just to figure out where each person was.
"It's possible that, based on the dynamics of a very large scene, they may have been pedestrians on the roadway," said Deputy Chief John DeRousse.
Everett police say they hope to have those answers in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the 18-year-old woman pulled from the wreckage is still fighting to survive. She is in critical condition in ICU at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
