Police searching for person responsible for tire slashing spree

TUKWILA, Wash. — Tukwila police are asking for the public’s help in finding the person responsible for a tire slashing spree that happened Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

The most recent incident occurred near the 3800 block of South 126th Street.

Police said they took numerous reports of tires being slashed on the northwest side of the city.

Mighty-O Donuts, located on East Marginal Way, was also a target in the tire slashings. Its delivery operations were crippled after vandals struck between 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

A KIRO 7 crew was able to video a busted fence lock and the damage caused, with just about every vehicle and tire in the lot targeted.

“Someone came in and slashed all four tires on six employees’ cars and then all four tires on our delivery van as well,” an employee said.

Tukwila police said they think the slashings are connected to several other slashing cases in the past several weeks.

Anyone who has witnessed or has surveillance of the person damaging vehicle tires is being asked to email tips to tips@tukwilawa.gov or upload video footage directly to the police department’s evidence portal at https://tukwilapdwa.evidence.com/axon/citizen/public/tireslashing.
