SEATTLE — A man was arrested for attempted burglary Sunday evening in the Madison Park neighborhood of Seattle.
Officers received a call around 9 p.m. about an attempted burglary at a home located in the 400 block of East Prospect Street.
Police said the homeowner told them he walked into his garage and saw a male trying to take his belongings. The homeowner then chased the suspect before calling 911, according to the press release.
After the homeowner described what the burglar looked like, officers said they searched the area with a K-9 team. Police then received a second call about a man who was in the backyard of a house near 42nd Avenue East and East Galer Street. Officers said he matched the burglar's description.
Police were able to locate and detain the suspect. The homeowner verified he was the man who had been his garage.
The 29-year-old suspect was arrested and booked into the King County Jail for investigation of burglary.
