Two men found dead in Tacoma

Tacoma police are searching for information after two men were found dead on the city’s eastside Sunday evening.

“We're not sure what they were doing there. We don't believe they lived in the neighborhood, but we don't know what brought them there,” said Officer Loretta Cool.

Officer Cool said a person living in the 1300 block of East 35th Street spotted a man falling to the ground and called police around 4:50 p.m. Dec. 9.

"I don't know what prompted the resident to look out his window, because, I don't believe he heard anything, he just happened to see the person fall at that moment in time and he called,” she said.

When officers got to the scene they found two victims.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner identified the men as Deonte Mitchner, 21, and Evitan Debiaso, 19. An official cause of death hasn't been released, but police said the two appeared to have been shot.

“The detectives have worked through the night, they've contacted various witnesses and they're trying put together exactly what happened,” said Officer Cool.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Tacoma Police Department.
