SEATTLE — Police are investigating after two men were shot in Pioneer Square early Thursday, officials said.
The Seattle Police Department began getting calls around 2:15 a.m to report that a man had been shot in the 200 block of South Washington Street. Arriving officers found a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg.
While they were waiting for medics to arrive, they found a second victim with a gunshot wound to the hand, a 23-year-old man.
Both were taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Witnesses told police the shooting started when the two victims confronted a man who had reportedly been slapping women.
Gang unit detectives are investigating.
