Police investigate after car crashes into Everett fire station

EVERETT, Wash. — Officers with the Everett Police Department are investigating after they say a woman drove her car into a fire station Saturday night.

Around 7:30 p.m., police said the woman drove off the road, through a fence and over a rock wall and crashed into a wall at Everett Station 5.

Police said the crash caused extensive structural damage to the fire station and the car.

Firefighters were in the room when the car crashed into the building, police said.

“We are thankful none of our firefighters were injured during this incident," Fire Chief Dave DeMarco said in a news release.

Police said drywall, insulation, bricks and other debris “littered” the inside of the station after the crash.

The woman was not injured in the crash, but police said they are working to see if she was impaired.

The fire station is working on normal operations as officials work to clean up after the crash.
