EVERETT, Wash. — Two people involved in a shooting were arrested Sunday morning in Everett, police said.
Officers were called to the 6800 block of Lower Ridge Road for reports of a shooting with multiple people running from the area.
When officers arrived they found an empty vehicle with an unfired cartridge on the ground next to it, police said. They also found out that multiple homes and nearby vehicles had been struck.
Major Crimes detectives were called to the scene to investigate and believe a man was having problems with another man known to police and threatened to show up at their home to fight, police said.
A second man drove the man to the house and the passenger got out and was holding a gun, police said. He then got into an argument with several people standing in front of the home and then another man came out of the house with a gun.
Police said numerous shots were fired by both men and then everyone ran from the scene.
The driver, a 29-year-old Everett man, later returned for the vehicle, was questioned by detectives and was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail based on his involvement in the shooting, police said.
Police said a 26-year-old woman was also arrested after she provided false information to investigators, denying knowing anyone involved in the shooting. When detectives searched the home, they say they found evidence to the contrary. She was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for rendering criminal assistance.
Police said there is probable cause to arrest several others involved in the shooting.
