Pockets of snow fall at higher elevations

Pockets of snow fell on the higher hills in some areas Wednesday morning.

Viewers reported that snow was falling in such areas as Buckley, Mineral, Black Diamond, Enumclaw and Ravensdale. Snow levels were generally between 400 and 1,000 feet.

The snow level will mainly stay around 500-1,000 feet, unless the showers are slightly heavier. For the most part, the showers have been pretty light and will continue to slowly decrease as the morning goes on.

So I don't expect much more additional accumulations, say trace amounts to an inch again mainly at 500 feet and higher and mainly to the south and east of Seattle.

The showers will continue to decrease over the next couple of hours; however, a few will continue to pop up even over the central and north sound.  Temps are in the upper-30s and lower-40s, so most of anything that falls will be in the form of rain, again unless you are around 500 feet or higher.  Highs will finish in the lower-40s.

After seeing about 6-8 inches at Stevens and and Snoqualmie Pass, and about 20 inches at Paradise, we'll see another 1-2 inches with the snow level around 1,000 feet.

We'll see some sunshine after some fog and freezing fog tomorrow morning, with tetmps in the low to mid-40s.

Friday another weather system moves in and we could have snow levels around 500 feet during the day, but falling to lower elevations at night into Saturday morning.  A few inches of spotty lowland snow accumulation is possible once again, especially Saturday.  We'll dry out a bit on Sunday but showers are still possible with low snow levels.

When does it end? The cold hangs around until about the first of March and we could have more weather systems with low snow levels next week.
