Pike Place Market celebrates ‘Local Appreciation Day’

SEATTLE — Pike Place Market is hosting its first-ever “Local Appreciation Day” on Saturday to thank Seattleites who support local businesses across the Market community.

“At Pike Place Market, we love our locals. We love seeing familiar faces, we love the relationships our producers and our locals have had there, and so we really just want to give back and thank our locals,” said Madison Bristol, Marketing and Public Relations Officer for Pike Place Market.

There will be live music and a special shopping offer from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The first 500 shoppers who spend $50 or more at the Market’s shops and restaurants to show their receipts at a tent under the Market’s clock will receive a special Pike Place shopping bag.

The event is meant to kick off the Market’s month-long celebration of “all things local” in February.
