EVERETT, Wash. - Everett police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man seen fleeing after a homicide last month.
Police were called to the 1200 block of Broadway Avenue on May 24 for a report of two men fighting. Officers arrived to find a man lying near a bus stop who was bleeding severely from his head.
During the attack, the man received multiple skull fractures. Police believe a weapon was used.
He was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The victim, a homeless man known to camp in the Everett and Marysville area, was later identified as 62-year-old Jay Agostinelli.

Officers spoke with several nearby witnesses who saw the attack who provided a description of a man fleeing north. Police said the same man was seen running eastbound on 12th Street.
Police released surveillance video and photos of the man who ran from the scene. Anyone with information about the attack or can identify the person of interest is asked to call the Everett Police Department Tip Line at 425- 257-8450 or Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS.
