Man injured, suspect arrested after Downtown Seattle stabbing

Seattle police are investigating a stabbing that left a man injured Monday afternoon in Downtown Seattle.

Before 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Olive Way to investigate a report of a stabbing.

Investigators said the 33-year-old victim reported he was walking on the sidewalk when a man attacked him.

The victim told police he thought the suspect punched him in the neck but then realized he was bleeding.

The victim followed the suspect as he called 911.

When police arrived, the victim identified the 27-year-old suspect and police arrested him.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is stable.

Police said they found a pocket knife on the suspect and booked him into the King County Jail on suspicion of felony assault.

According to investigators, the suspect also has a Department of Corrections felony warrant for escape from community custody.

Seattle police said this stabbing is not related to Monday morning’s fatal stabbing in Belltown.
