Pedestrian struck, killed by vehicle in Spanaway

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Sunday night in Spanaway, Washington State Patrol Trooper Robert Reyer said.

The person was hit on southbound state Route 7 at 160th Street South.

“It appears the pedestrian stepped into the road and in front of the car, which was unable to stop,” Reyer said.

All lanes of traffic have been blocked while troopers investigate.

Traffic is being diverted to 159th Street South.

The fatal collision is under investigation.
