Pedestrian killed by hit-and-run driver in Kent

KENT, Wash. — A pedestrian was hit and killed near an onramp to northbound SR 167 in Kent.

It happened at about 5:20 a.m. Tuesday.

Troopers say a 46-year-old woman was attempting to cross the crosswalk on 84th Avenue South at the northbound SR 167 ramp when she was hit.  She died at the scene.

The Washington State Patrol said the driver who struck the woman did not stop.

The ramp was closed while officers investigated.

Investigators do not have a description of the driver or vehicle at this time.
