One hurt in 3-alarm fire at Edgewood apartment building

EDGEWOOD, Wash. — One person was hurt in a 3-alarm apartment fire in Edgewood Tuesday morning.

East Pierce Fire and Rescue crews were called to the building in the 4800 block of 110th Avenue Court East at 7 a.m.

The first units to arrive upgraded the fire to a 3rd alarm response.

Fire officials said 18 fire trucks and crews from neighboring fire departments are at the scene battling the flames.

One person was taken to the hospital.

The cause of the fire will be investigated by Pierce County and East Pierce Fire and Rescue fire marshals.
