SEATTLE — One person is dead after they were crushed by a forklift in Seattle's Central District.
Firefighters were called to a construction site at 26th Avenue East and East John Street at about 10:45 a.m. Monday.
Seattle fire officials said the victim was deceased when medics arrived.
The circumstances of the accident are not yet known, but video from Chopper 7 showed a load of spilled bricks on the sidewalk and the covered victim underneath the toppled forklift.
Firefighters are working to extricate the victim.
