A coach at Olympic High School in Bremerton was arrested on suspicion of sexual misconduct with a minor.
Tyson Alexander Ebert, 25, was arrested Thursday afternoon by Kitsap County Sheriff's detectives.
"School officials had received information concerning inappropriate contact between the coach and a student," Kitsap County Deputy Scott Wilson said in a statement. "During the investigation, sheriff's detectives developed probable cause that Mr. Ebert had engaged in sexual activity, to include sexual intercourse, with the student."
Wilson said Ebert was charged with first-degree sexual misconduct with a minor, and bail was set at $50,000 bail.
Ebert was suspended without pay and administrations are recommending his job be terminated. The Sheriff's office is asking that anyone with information related to the investigation call Detective Lt. Jon VanGesen at 360-337-7192 or Detective Dave Meyer at 360-337-5617.
