SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. — One officer was injured while police were arresting a man who attempted to run from them while being questioned Friday in Sedro-Woolley.
Officials with the Sedro-Woolley Police Department were called about 1:20 p.m. to a hit-and-run complaint on Highway 20 and Township Street.
When officers found the vehicle believed to be involved, they stopped the driver and detained him for DUI-marijuana, law enforcement officials said.
Officials said while authorities were investigating, the man attempted to flee, and a struggle began. Police took down the man and an Upper Skagit Tribal officer suffered a minor injury during the struggle.
The suspect was also injured in the struggle.
When Sedro-Woolley police got the man back to their holding cell area, the man attempted to flee again but was taken to the ground.
The man was booked into jail.
