Oberto Snacks recalls smoked sausage product

SEATTLE — Kent-based Oberto Snacks Inc. is recalling a smoked sausage product due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Saturday.

The recall is for 309 pounds of Cattleman’s Cut Smoked Sausage Old Fashioned.

The smoked sausage products were produced March 21 and contain soy, which is not declared on the label.

The sausage comes in 3-ounce plastic packages and has a best by date of 21MAR2021 22. The product also bears an establishment number of EST. 2862B inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The items were shipped to retailers nationwide.

The issue with the product was discovered Aug. 21, 2020.

No injuries or illnesses have been reported yet.

Anyone who has purchased the product should throw it away or return it to the place where it was bought, officials said.
