Motorcyclist killed in fiery crash in Kent

KENT, Wash. — A motorcyclist was killed when he crashed into the back of a Washington State Department of Transportation truck on State Route 167 in Kent early Thursday.

It happened in the southbound lanes just north of South 212th Street at about 12:20 a.m. Thursday.

Troopers said the motorcycle crashed into the back of the WSDOT truck, caught fire and then the bike and its rider were dragged under a car, which also caught fire.

The motorcyclist died at the scene. The drivers of the other vehicles were not hurt.

The southbound lanes were closed for six hours while troopers investigated.
