Moderate flooding expected from Tolt, Snoqualmie rivers

CARNATION, Wash. — The King County Flood Warning Center issued a Phase 3 flood alert for the Snoqualmie and Tolt rivers on Wednesday, with moderate flooding possible along the rivers after heavy rainfall.

The Flood Warning Center opened at 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday to closely monitor rising flows on the Snoqualmie River.

Flooding from the Snoqualmie River could occur across the Snoqualmie Valley. Road closures are possible, including Neal Road, Southeast Reinig Road, West Snoqualmie River Road Northeast, Snoqualmie Meadowbrook Road, and Mill Pond Road, according to the warning center.

Along the Tolt River, roads that could be affected by rising floodwaters include parts of the 6800 block of Tolt River Road Northeast. Property flooding could happen along the south bank of the Tolt River between the Snoqualmie Valley Trail bridge and the State Route 203 bridge near 323rd Place Southeast.

King County Flood Warning Center employees are monitoring stream gauges and weather reports.

Both rivers are expected to crest Wednesday evening before starting to recede.
