SEATTLE — King County Metro has suspended several routes through Friday, Jan. 21.
A news release from Metro said the suspensions are the result of having a smaller workforce and needing to make repairs to its fleet after the recent winter storms.
Nearly all of Metro’s 160 bus routes on weekdays and weekends will continue. The exceptions are routes 162, 177, 304, 320 and 330 that will not run on weekdays, and route 125, which will not run on Saturdays.
Metro officials said they are addressing the staff shortage by continuing to hire, train, and promote bus drivers. Thirty-seven new part-time drivers graduated from training in the last three months, and two new training classes of part- and full-time drivers start on Monday.
