Medical workers across Washington to get 2nd dose of Pfizer vaccine

SEATTLE — Medical workers across Washington State will start receiving their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine this week.

According to the Washington State Health Department, more than 356,000 doses will arrive soon.

So far, 69,000 Washingtonians have been immunized, but roughly 80 percent of Washington’s vaccines are sitting in storage.

Gov. Jay Inslee says he has a solution to the delays. Phase 1a will now include more healthcare workers, not just those on the front lines who are working with coronavirus patients.

As state officials work to ramp up vaccinations, they’re also planning to launch a new tool called PhaseFinder so people know when they’re eligible.

We’ve learned part of that process will be filling out an online questionnaire.

The test version of the online questionnaire asks about age and whether a person works in health care.

According to The Seattle Times, PhaseFinder will run on the honor system, with people showing screenshots of their questionnaire.

It is not yet known when PhaseFinder will go public.
