SEATTLE — A Maryland man was arrested Friday in Seattle for allegedly making threatening comments on Facebook.
The Department of Justice for the Southern District of Florida accused Eric Lin, 35, of threatening to injure and kill a South Florida resident and to kill all Hispanics throughout Florida.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said Lin was charged after a criminal complaint was filed against him in Miami.
"According to allegations in the complaint, between May 30, 2019 and August 13, 2019, Lin made multiple threatening communications via Facebook," a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of Florida wrote in a news release.
Officials said Lin made his initial appearance before a judge in Seattle.
The investigation is ongoing.
