Man seriously hurt when tree falls on truck amid high wind

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — A 50-year-old man was airlifted to a nearby hospital after a tree fell on his truck in Snohomish County’s Sultan Basin amid high wind.

It happened at milepost 8 on Sultan Basin Road at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said there are several trees down in the area.

The road was expected to be closed for several hours due to high wind, unsafe conditions and the crash investigation, Ireton said.
