A man charged with burglar is accused of robbing a man while he was released from jail on the belief he wouldn’t commit crimes.
Kenandrea Artell Adams, 18, is accused of domestic violence burglary, domestic violence assault and malicious mischief from a December 2018 case. In that incident, prosecutors said Adams broke down the front door of his minor girlfriend’s home and assaulted her when he was inside.
On January 2, the defendant was released and ordered not to commit additional crimes.
But he did commit another violent offense, police said.
Police said on May 3, Adams demanded a debit card from a minor victim. When he didn’t get it, prosecutors say Adams punched the boy in the eye, the stomach, and whipped him with a lanyard before walking off with the debit card.
Adams was arrested after the victim identified him from a photo lineup. The victim said the attack happened by the alley of Highland Ice Arena and a bus stop on Aurora Avenue North. The ice arena is at 18005 Aurora Ave N.
In addition, prosecutors say when Adams was arrested he had a warrant for violating a protection order from the domestic violence case.
