Man killed in Tacoma shooting

Police said a man was killed in an early-morning shooting in Tacoma early Friday.

South Sound 911 dispatchers received a call at 1:34 a.m. about shots fired in the 3900 block of East Portland Avenue.

Tacoma Police said while officers were at that location, a victim of the shooting was dropped off at a local hospital, where the 26-year-old man was pronounced dead.

Detectives and crime scene detectives are gathering evidence.

The man’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
