GIG HARBOR, Wash. — A 67-year-old man is recovering after being injured in a suspected home invasion robbery and assault in Gig Harbor.
Pierce County sheriff’s deputies said at about 1:12 p.m., medics got a 911 call from a woman who reported that she had discovered an injured adult family member at his home in the area of 112th Street Court Northwest, which is part of the Minterbrook Oyster Company property.
When deputies arrived, they saw what appeared to be a ransacked home, which revealed that a burglary had been interrupted or a home invasion robbery had taken place.
The victim suffered multiple broken bones and internal injuries, leaving him in critical condition, authorities said.
No other injuries were reported.
Investigators are asking neighbors with home security cameras who live along 112th and 114th Street Northwest and 126th Avenue North if they saw any suspicious persons or vehicles in the area between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 1:15 p.m. Friday.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to give the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department a call.
