Seattle police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting at an encampment in early April, according to a blotter post.
Police responded to a shooting at an encampment underneath the 12th Avenue South Bridge. When officers arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene. They located a victim with a gunshot wound to the leg, who was transported to Harborview Medical Center for surgery.
Detectives continued to follow up, and in the course of the investigation, learned the suspect's identity and location of his tent underneath the bridge.
Detectives obtained a search warrant and conducted surveillance.
Police found the suspect trespassing under the bridge Friday and arrested him. The suspect was interviewed at SPD headquarters and booked into King County Jail with a request for assault and weapons charges.
