A man was arrested after police say he broke into a Seattle sports store last week.
On Sept. 10 at about 4:15 a.m., officers responded after a burglary alarm was set off at the SODO Sports Store on 10116 1st Avenue South.
When officers arrived, they found a broken window and a large rock on the floor inside the store, according to probable cause documents.
Investigators said officers discovered several jerseys were stolen from a rack, found empty store hangers on the ground outside of the building and no suspects inside.
Probable cause documents said the store manager got to the store and showed and showed officers surveillance video from the store. It showed a suspect, later identified as Tavarous Dewayne Williams, with another suspect nearby.
According to police, Williams was seen on surveillance in a throwing motion at a lower front window, and both suspects were seen crawling through the broken window into the store.
"Both suspects were then recorded climbing out of the store, through the broken window, carrying large bundles of clothing in their arms," probable cause documents said.
After 4:30 a.m., CenturyLink Field security had monitored surveillance video and it showed two men carrying piles of sports jerseys and walking around the south side of the SODO Sports store building, investigators said.
The two were seen on surveillance video packing the jerseys into plastic garbage bags and boxes.
According to probable cause documents, an officer recognized Williams in the surveillance because of his pants.
At about 5 a.m., two officers located Williams at a nearby park and were able to identify him in the surveillance video, wearing the same distinctive clothing, police said.
Williams was arrested for investigation of burglary. Before this arrest, police said Williams was arrested more than 50 times.
Investigators said the store owner identified 36 NBA jerseys were stolen, with a retail price of $4,725.
The stolen merchandise was not recovered, and the second suspect hasn't been identified.
