SEATTLE — Deputies with the King County Sheriff's Office Precinct 3 (Southeast King County) will be conducting an emphasis patrol for drivers impaired by marijuana on Friday.
Each year on April 20, known as 4/20, advocates across the country celebrate the unofficial "marijuana holiday."
Statistics from police show that impaired driving by drugs and/or drug/alcohol combinations have gone up recently, while the rate of impaired driving attributed solely to alcohol has gone down.
The King County Sheriff's Office hopes that the advanced notice will encourage people who choose to celebrate 4/20 to not drive.
