‘I was targeted’: Edmonds man says someone threw rock from overpass onto I-5

SEATTLE — An Edmonds man said while driving home on Interstate 5 from work on Sunday morning, someone dropped a rock from a downtown Seattle overpass, hitting his vehicle.

“They wanted to kill me. I was taunted, targeted and shot at,” said Longshoreman Steven Vlasic. “I was targeted! There’s no doubt in my mind that they see me coming. … They time the rock. They timed everything, and they missed by 4 feet.”

“I came within 4 feet of possibly dying,” said Vlasic. He said it was scary.

Vlasic’s vehicle had a crack on the front bumper when he showed it to a KIRO 7 news crew.

Vlasic said Washington State Patrol told him it could not do anything besides take a report because he did not see who threw the rock.

Vlasic said he is convinced someone from a homeless encampment is responsible.
