Guns, drugs recovered during rape investigation in Seattle’s Van Asselt neighborhood

SEATTLE — Police said they recovered a kilogram of “pure” fentanyl and multiple guns during an investigation of a rape Thursday night in Seattle’s Van Asselt neighborhood.

Officers were called about 8:30 p.m. to the 7200 block of Marginal Way South for a report of a naked woman screaming for help.

When officers arrived, they found a woman and saw a vehicle speeding away from the scene.

Witnesses told investigators they saw the woman come from a nearby hotel room with a handgun, chasing a man into a truck, authorities said. They also told investigators that a second person took the gun from the woman and fled.

When officers entered two hotel rooms connected with the incident, a kilogram of fentanyl — able to produce 872,000 pills — was found, along with guns, according to Seattle police.

No immediate details into what occurred have been made available.

Law enforcement said detectives with the sexual assault unit are working with the woman on a suspect description.

The incident remains under investigation.
