Weezer was formed in Los Angeles in 1992. Their initial hit, "Undone (The Sweater Song)" was first played in 1994 by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame DJ Marco Collins on Seattle's 107.7 The End. Collins is now on KEXP.

Weezer played RKCNDY in Seattle seven days after they released The Blue Album, which went on to sell more than 15 million copies worldwide. That year Weezer also played Moe's Cafe, the OK Hotel, the Seattle Center Arena, and did a meet and greet with fans at the Tower Records on Mercer Street shortly after the release of their video for "Buddy Holly."

All those venues have since closed, though the OK Hotel building still exists at 212 Alaskan Way S. and Neumo's opened in 2004 at 925 E Pike St.

Green Day's major label debut, "Dookie," also was released in 1994 and went on to sell more than 20 million copies. Rolling Stone ranked it at No. 193 on their 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.

Green Day also played the OK Hotel in 1991 and '92, and the Crocodile Café in 1992. Video of their 1994 performance at Oz Nightclub and their 1995 show at the Seattle Center Arena are on YouTube. Oz -- which also was known as DV8, Amp, and Skoochies -- was demolished for a mixed-use residential building at 131 Taylor Avenue North in 2012.

Green Day's concert at T-Mobile Park will be 19 years to the day after their fifth show in Washington, at the Rainbow Tavern in Longview. Their first Washington show was a house concert in 1990. They also played that year in Spokane and two January shows the following year in Olympia, according to a tour archive.

Green Day's first Seattle concert was July 19, 1991, the day after a show at the North Shore Surf Club in Olympia – where Dave Grohl played his first show with Nirvana in October 1990.

Green Day's best known songs include "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)," "When I Come Around," "Longview" and "American Idiot, which is also the name of their musical that opened in 2010.

Fall Out Boy formed in Chicago in 2001 and were nominated for a Best New Artist Grammy in 2006. Their 2007 album "Infinity on High" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Their song "Sugar, We're Goin' Down" won an MTV Music Video Award and was their first Top 10 Hit, peaking at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

L.A.-based ska punk band The Interrupters, known for their 2018 single "She's Kerosene," also are part of Hella Mega tour.
