Granite Falls man killed in head-on crash in Lake Stevens

LAKE STEVENS, Wash. — A 79-year-old Granite Falls man was killed in a head-on crash in Lake Stevens Friday.

Snohomish County deputies said it happened in the 15300 block of 84th Street NE around 8:30 p.m.

The Granite Falls man, who was driving one of the cars, died shortly after the crash. Two passengers in his car had minor injuries and were treated at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle, a man in his 30s, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Detectives are still working to determine what caused the crash, which was initially reported as a hit-and-run by a reckless driver. So far, detectives said they are unsure of that driver's involvement and are still working to determine if that vehicle was involved in the crash.
