Fire marshal cancels Fourth of July fireworks show

CARNATION, Wash. — The city of Carnation’s Fourth of July fireworks show was canceled by the fire marshal this week due to the extreme dry and hot weather in the last few weeks, the show’s committee said.

The city said on Thursday the Fourth of July Committee’s goal is to reschedule the show at a later date.

Personal fireworks are prohibited within the city limits, officials said.

People who live outside city limits are being asked to reconsider shooting fireworks for safety concerns.

As part of this weekend’s celebration, the city still plans to celebrate the 5K run, parade and music entertainment.
