DOUGLAS COUNTY, Wash. — Massive flames and smoke poured from a building in Waterville as a fire ripped through it.
The Washington State Department of Transportation set up detours as State Route 2 was blocked due to the fire Thursday evening at 1116 Locust St.
In a video tweeted by a Washington State Patrol trooper, the flames coming from the building appeared to be very intense, causing firefighters to take what appeared to be a defensive approach.
People who live in Waterville told KIRO 7 the building is Kopey’s Garage -- it was built back in 1900.
The Wenatchee World reported crews from at least five different fire agencies responded to the fire.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
