Fire destroys motor home in Kent

(South King Fire)

KENT, Wash. — Fire officials are investigating what caused a motor home to go up in flames in Kent.

South King Fire said a witness saw sparks about 1:45 p.m. coming from underneath an older motor home driving west on South 259th Street in the 8500 block along the Green River.

When a Puget Sound Fire crew arrived, the front of the motor home was engulfed in flames, officials said.

Officials said heat from the motor home caused the outer layer of glass on a neighboring office building window to shatter and even charred some of the exterior trim. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading into the building.

No one was injured.

The driver of the motor home was interviewed by an investigator.
