Leak at Wild Waves causes hazmat response

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — A leak at Wild Waves Thursday afternoon caused a hazmat response.

When fire crews arrived, they determined that a total of 2,500 gallons of sodium hypochlorite had spilled.

The liquid was contained to the park’s retention pond, where park crews were able to mitigate the spill.

No one was injured.

Officials did not say where the liquid leaked from or what caused the incident.
