PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — A brush fire that burned next to Interstate 5 at the Pierce/King County line was extinguished, according to the Tacoma Fire Department.
Firefighters said the brush fire occurred at northbound I-5 and Porter Way, where trees also burned at around 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Crews were able to prevent fire from spreading to nearby homes.
No injuries were reported.
At one point, the two right lanes were blocked, causing a delay in traffic.
Authorities did not say how the fire started but are investigating.
