Fire crews battle brush fire off SR 18

KING COUNTY, Wash. — Crews with the Valley Regional Fire Authority battled a brush fire Friday afternoon off Highway 18.

Officials said it took nearly 1,000 gallons of water and multiple firefighters digging to put out the fire.

Traffic was blocked on the highway, so crews could perform a tank transfer, officials said.

Officials are reminding people to be careful because vegetation is dry, regardless of the rain we have gotten in Western Washington thus far.
