YAKIMA, Wash. — The Federal Emergency Management Agency is opening a mass COVID-19 vaccination site in Yakima, the governor’s office announced Monday.
The announcement comes after an application from the state and Yakima County was approved by FEMA.
“We are so appreciative to FEMA and our other federal partners for working with the state to make significant additional resources available to the people of the Yakima Valley,” Gov. Jay Inslee said.

The vaccination site, which is opening March 31, will stay open for six weeks and can administer more than 1,000 doses per day.
It will include both a drive-thru vaccination site at Central Washington State Fair Park and mobile vaccination units.
The additional vaccine doses will be provided by the federal government and will not take away from Washington’s regular allotments.
The Yakima Valley was hit particularly hard by the pandemic with disproportionately high infection and hospitalization rates compared to the rest of the state.
The site will be open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Thursdays, it will be open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Hours for the mobile clinic can be found here.
Those seeking vaccinations should check their phase eligibility using Phase Finder. Then, register for an appointment on Prep-Mod or call 1-800-525-0127. Proof of eligibility is required, which may be an employer/provider letter, work ID badge or screenshot of Phase Finder approval.
