1 man dead, 2 others hurt in Lake Stevens crash

LAKE STEVENS, Wash. — One man was killed and two others were hurt in a crash in Lake Stevens on Thanksgiving.

At 1:18 p.m., police were called to a fatal crash at State Route 92 and Lake Drive.

A man driving a black Chevrolet Silverado heading eastbound on SR 92 at a high rate of speed crossed the center line and crashed into a Lexus sedan with two men inside that was heading westbound.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene and two men were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

Impairment is believed to be a factor in the collision, according to Lake Stevens police. Criminal charges are pending.

Traffic was blocked between Lake Drive and 99th Street for hours while officers investigated.

The road reopened at around 6:45 p.m.
