• Drugs, guns and cash seized after man drops heroin during traffic stop, police say

    SEATTLE - A 42-year-old man was arrested in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood on Tuesday after police said he dropped heroin onto the ground during a routine traffic stop. 

    In a blotter post, police said they pulled the man over around 1 p.m. in the 9000 block of Greenwood Avenue North.

    "As officers approached the vehicle the driver exited the car and dropped a large gumball-sized baggie of black tar heroin," police said. 

    Police took the man into custody and said they saw a handgun, cash and safe on the floor of the vehicle. 

    The officers on scene applied for a search warrant for the car and later found a shotgun, two pistols, 2.2 grams of cocaine, 8.5 grams of methamphetamine, and $831 in cash, officials said.

    Police said the man was later booked into the King County Jail.
