SHELTON, Wash. — A driver was killed in a crash Saturday morning in Mason County after driving off the road and hitting a light pole, officials said.
The crash happened on US 101 at Purdy Cutoff Road north of Shelton.
The driver was headed southbound and drove off the road, hitting a light pole, officials said.
Trooper Chelsea Hodgson said the car rolled onto its top, coming to a rest in a fish hatchery pond.

The driver was the lone occupant in the vehicle. Sadly, they did not survive.
Our hearts go out to all affected by this morning’s tragic collision.
The driver was alone in the car and died in the crash.
