Man arrested after dozens of Christmas trees stolen from farm near Puyallup

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Dozens of Christmas trees worth thousands were cut down and stolen from a tree farm near Puyallup, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department said Friday.

Police said 78 Fraser fir Christmas trees were stolen from the Snowshoe Evergreen Tree Farm along State Route 162 in the Alderton/McMillin area near Puyallup. The crime is believed to have happened sometime between the night of Saturday, December 7, and the morning of Monday, December 9.

On Friday afternoon, Federal Way police said they arrested a man.

The man allegedly stole a truck, a cargo trailer and fifth wheel trailer, police said. According to investigators, he admitted to stealing Christmas trees from the tree farm.

The stolen trees are valued at more than $6,000.
