Detectives search for witnesses after shots fired at pickup truck on SR 167

KENT, Wash. — Investigators are looking for witnesses who may have seen a driver firing shots at a pickup truck on State Route 167 in Kent over the weekend.

Troopers said that after 1 p.m. Saturday, the Washington State Patrol received a 911 call from a person reporting that they were shot at by someone in another car in the southbound lanes of SR167, south of South 277th Street.

According to the victim, he was involved in a road rage incident with a green 4-door Jaguar on South 277th Street.

He also said that the incident continued onto SR 167, where the driver of the Jaguar fired three rounds from an AR-15 rifle at his car, hitting the right taillight.

The victim, who was driving a gray Dodge Ram, sped off and called 911.

Troopers said the suspect exited the freeway near Federal Way.
