Detectives discover more bones where human skull was found near Alder Lake

Days after a human skull was found in a wooded area north of Alder Lake, more bones were found Thursday belonging to the skull, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said Friday.

On Thursday, detectives and forensic investigators went to the scene where the skull was found earlier in the week to try and find more bones that were missing.

Detectives were able to find more bones and several other items. The bones were turned over to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office and the other items were taken for evidence.

The cause and manner of death are still undetermined.
