GRAHAM, Wash. — Pierce County deputies arrested a burglary suspect after a standoff in Graham Thursday morning.
Deputies were called to a strip mall near 224th Street East and Meridian at 6:43 a.m. by a smoke shop owner who saw the burglar on his surveillance cameras.
Police said the smoke shop has been burglarized multiple times and believe the suspects are accessing the business from the roof.
Deputies made announcements for the suspect to come out, but the man did not surrender.
Officers said they later found the man hiding in the rafters and used ladders to get him down.
The 33-year-old was arrested and will be booked into the Pierce County Jail for investigation of commercial burglary, resisting arrest and malicious mischief.
Police K-9 Ammo helped deputies with the search.
