Firefighters knock down flames at Tacoma home

TACOMA, Wash. — Firefighters have knocked down flames at a house fire in Tacoma Monday.

Tacoma Fire first tweeted about the fire at South 86th Street and J Street around 5:20 a.m.

Crews said there were heavy fire conditions on the first and second floors and that firefighters were unable to use the stairs inside.

Firefighters entered the building through windows to fight the flames on the second floor.

There was also fire in the basement.

Firefighters have since knocked down the fire on all floors and are continuing to put out hot spots.

There are no reports of injuries.

A fire investigator is on the way to the scene.
